Piacentine-McCullen Wedding Cape May, New Jersey·
Talia and Jim grew up in the same small town, and attended middle school together. Talia ended up transferring schools. However, years later, the couple ended up reconnecting at a bar Talia worked at. Shortly after, they began dating and took this go-round a bit more serious than their middle school days. “He showed me where I had signed his yearbook and gave him the wrong number,” Talia told us. Flash forward to 2011, and Talia was shopping for her wedding dress on Black Friday.
For their wedding venue, Talia wanted to do something different, “I live in Cape May, NJ and it’s a very popular place to have weddings so I wanted to do something that hadn’t been done yet.” She chose a gorgeous winery that was being built close to the horse farm she spent her days at. And in May 2013, she and Jim were the first couple to get married there.
What made you choose the dresses?
I originally thought I wanted a different dress. However, one of bridesmaids, who owns a great clothing store in town, sent me a picture of these Shoshanna dresses. I fell in love. Being as though I had 12 bridesmaids, I thought I couldn’t go wrong by letting them to choose different styles in one color. It really broke it up and they all looked amazing.
What was your favorite feature of the dress?
The lace cap sleeve and how it darted in at the waist, very flattering!
I chose the 3/4 sleeve style dress. I loved that it was short and still covered the top half of me. I also loved that the 3/4 sleeves weren’t lined so you saw your skin through the lace.
Had you ever worn Shoshanna before to a wedding or event?
Yes, to a wedding and her bathing suits of course!
Do you plan to wear it again?
I recently wore it to a wedding in Atlantic City, NJ. It was black tie optional and was perfect for a November wedding. This time I wore the same nude pumps with a hot pink flower necklace from J.Crew. I received so many compliments!
I have already worn it to another wedding and with flats to work- I love that it can be dressed up or down.
Thank you so much to Talia, Jim, and their wedding party for sharing their day with us!
