Celino-Callais Wedding New Orleans, Louisiana·
Both born and raised in New Orleans, Sarah and Rory were committed to starting and building their lives together there. They exchanged their vows on the banks of the Mississippi river. “With our city behind us, it just felt right, as well as romantic,” explained Sarah. They wanted their wedding to have a Spring Awakening feel. “New Orleans is fortunate to have an early Spring and we wanted bright colors to reflect that,” she told us.
Sarah opted for a less traditional wedding dress, and went the short route. “I wanted to feel glamorous without feeling overwhelmed by a lot of fabric. A shorter hemline was perfect for my special day. The high neckline on my dress also complemented the bridesmaid dresses,” Sarah says.
What made you choose the dresses?
I’ve always known I didn’t want “traditional” bridesmaid dresses. I wanted something my girls would feel comfortable in, and could realistically wear again. The Alana dress was everything I was looking for; I knew the moment I saw it that the color and style would be perfect. Shoshanna dresses have such a precise fit that no one in the group even needed alterations. The groomsmen wore charcoal grey tuxedo suits, which looked sophisticated next to the tangerine shade of the bridesmaid dresses.
What was your favorite feature of the dress?
The pockets, of course! Any dress with pockets is a must, and not to mention the beautiful color!
I loved the color of the dress which I can only describe as a cross between clementine and mandarin. The dress is a classic cut, comfortable cotton poplin, and it fit beautifully. The length was absolutely perfect!
I loved that there were pockets…. and bra strap snaps!
Was this your first time wearing Shoshanna?
I have 11 Shoshanna dresses and have worn them to events ranging from weddings and evening events to teaching in my classroom. The quality and fit are always spot on and her pieces are timeless.
This was my first Shoshanna dress, but it definitely won’t be my last.
Tammy, Best Woman
I've worn Shoshanna to many occasions; it’s such a classic, contemporary line. Perfect for bridal showers, bachelorette parties, and weddings.
Did the dress fit your body type?
The dress was perfect, no alterations needed!
Tammy, Best Woman
The Alana style fit all of the girls perfectly, and we all have completely different body types.
What accessories did you pair with the dress?
I accessorized my dress with a beautiful pair of antique bronze and quartz earrings, given to me by the beautiful bride, and carried a gold clutch, which were paired with nude heels.
Where or how do you plan to wear it again?
I plan to wear my dress this summer with cowboy boots and a jean jacket to work, and then out with friends
I am definitely wearing the dress on a lunch date, drinks with the girls, or any excuse to feel pretty. Dressed up or down, this dress is not only stunning, but also extremely comfortable.
Thank you so much to Sarah and all of her bridesmaids!
